Nicole Is our Grooming and Training Manager, she also helps Shanna out in Reception. She has 20 years of grooming experience and is dedicated to outstanding customer service. She spent four years as a lead groom and she specializes in grooming for show dogs. Nicole has 3 dogs, Graffiti, Quantum and Pixel all Australian Shepherds. She competes with them in conformation, rally obedience, scent work, barn hunt, and dock diving. Nicole teaches drop-in classes here at Benny's including pet obedience, rally obedience, competition obedience, and scent work.

Coming Soon! To ensure that all of our staff meet our high standards of care, all of our animal caregivers are required to complete 30 days of hands on on the job training before joining our staff permanently.

ABOUT OUR OWNER

​Lynsey Fuegner CPDT-KA
Lynsey is a certified Professional Dog Trainer, certified Trick Instructor, and a member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and the Pet Professionals Guild (PPG).  She is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen Program, the United Kennel Club's SPOT program, and the APDT's Canine Life and Social Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) program.  A graduate of the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers, Lynsey attended both the Professional, and the Master Trainer programs.  Lynsey also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  Her schooling and experience allow her to effectively communicate with both dogs and their owners.  

Lynsey has been around animals most of her life, but has been working in the kennel industry specifically since 2003.  She has worked with dogs and their owners, in both group and private settings, at various kennels in the St. Louis and St. Charles areas, as well as at her own boarding/daycare/training facility.  In addition to working in the pet industry, she has also been a trainer with Logan Haus Kennels for their Canine Trainers Course, and actively trains with Got Your Six Support Dogs.

Lynsey has experience with a wide variety of breeds and mixes of all ages, sizes, and types.  She regularly fosters and rehabs dogs for placement in permanent homes.  With her own personal dogs, Lynsey has been training and competing for years in various dog sports (including Agility, AKC Obedience, Rally Obedience, Iron Dog events, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing, Disc Dog, Mondio Ring, IPO/Schutzhund) and has competed at a National Level.  In her training, she follows the theories of Operant Conditioning, and through continuing education programs, stays up to date on the most current theories and practices of science-based dog training and husbandry to best be able to train and care for the pets under her care at Benny's.

Lynsey, and her menagerie of dogs, cats, a bird, and reptiles, live on site in the caretaker's apartment at Benny's, and are present 7 days a week to endure the safety and comfort of all of the animals lodging at Benny's.  Your pets are considered our family, and their comfort and safety are our top priority.
